Purpose:
To manage the planning, coordination and evaluation of institutional management and governance in respect of schools , ECD and AET Centres.

Functions:
  1. Manage the planning, coordination and evaluation of the institutional management and governance i.r.o. Public Ordinary Schools and Independent Schools (including homeschooling).
  2. Manage the planning, coordination and evaluation of the institutional management and governance i.r.o. AET institutions.
  3. Manage the planning, coordination and evaluation of the institutional management and governance i.r.o. ECD institutions.
  4. Manage the planning, coordination and evaluation of Finance, Administration and Governance (non-curriculum) in all learning sites.
Schools
 
Purpose:
To manage the planning, coordination and evaluation of the institutional management and governance i.r.o. Public Ordinary Schools and Independent Schools.
Functions
  1. Develop institutional management and governance policy.
  2. Develop systems, standards and practices for institutional management and governance.
  3. Develop Provincial norms and standards for Public Ordinary and Independent Schools.
  4. Ensure quality in institutional management and governance through qualitative and quantitative assessment.
  5. Provide policy and guidelines for building capacity of GBs and RCLs.
  6. Represent and liaise with GBs on relevant issues.
  7. Provide policy and guidelines for institution enrichment and extra-mural programmes including sport, arts and culture programmes and activities.
AET
 
Purpose:
To manage the planning, co-ordination and evaluation of the institutional management and governance i.r.o. AET institutions.
Functions:
  1. Develop AET institutional management and governance policy.
  2. Mobilise and advocate AET.
  3. Monitor and evaluate the governance and management of AET centres.
  4. Control the implementation of AET policies and legislation.
  5. Develop Provincial norms and standards for the funding of AET.
  6. Control access to AET.
  7. Develop and manage partnership with Local Government Community Centres, etc.
ECD
 
Purpose:
To manage the planning, coordination and evaluation of the institutional management and governance i.r.o. ECD institutions.
Functions:
  1. Develop ECD institutional management and governance policy.
  2. Control the implementation of the ECD Provincial Business Plan.
  3. Coordinate and facilitate networking between ECD specialists.
  4. Develop Provincial norms and standards for the funding of ECD centres.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the governance and management of ECD centres.
  6. Develop and manage partnerships with Local Government Community Centres, etc.
Institution Management
(Finance, Admin, Governance)
Purpose:
To manage the planning coordination and evaluation of Finance, Administration and Governance (non-curriculum) in all learning sites.
Functions:
  1. Develop policy and guidelines on IMG issues in respect of:
    • Finance
    • Administration (including HRM)
    • Governance
  2. Provide policy and guidelines for capacity building in respect of GBs and RCLs in respect of:
    • Finance
    • Administration
    • Governance
  3. Develop systems, standards and practices for IMG in respect of:
    • Finance
    • Administration
    • Governance
